First Photopia meeting big success.

A week ago, we held the first Photopia meeting at the CSU Rankin Arts Photography Center and it was an unqualified success. Thirty-six photographer attended, and we spent the first half hour enjoying refreshments, conversation and the beautiful weather on our large balcony overlooking Broadway. When we broke into groups, I was pleased to discover approximately the same number of photographers in each of the three groups: Basic Skills, Professional and Fine Art. One of our instructors, Local pro John Helms, shared some of his new work from Ft. Benning with an appreciative group of pros and I made a presentation to the basic skills group before meeting with the fine art photographers.

I could not have wished for more from our first meeting, and am excited about the community of photographers we have begun to establish. Please join us on November 1st for our next meeting. Details and an agenda soon.
